More about Barbara Sanderson
Barbara was born in Canada (London, Ontario) and immigrated to the US for graduate school. After completing graduate studies she moved to Seattle and began a career in Human Resources. She spent 10 years in corporate America working in various industries and climbing corporate ladders. In 1998 she decided to combine her love of animals and business knowledge and started the first doggy daycare in Seattle. .
During this time Barbara also took a course in glassblowing and her life has not been the same since! She has taken many courses and worked with incredible artists experienced in both glass blowing and fusing. She started her own glass business and now sells her work in several Seattle/Tacoma area galleries. . "I believe glass reflects life in many ways. We can control many things in our lives and yet there will always be an element of risk and fate in our life's path toward happiness and fulfillment. Working with glass requires skill, precision and fluidity, but there are still unseen elements of inspiration and fate in every piece. My ongoing exploration into the glass world includes finding new ways to express my love of nature and animals through art. " . Barbara works at Pratt Fine Arts Center, Pilchuck Glass School and various private studios in the greater Seattle area.
